Jo Bowis

Appalachian Flatfooter

Jo Bowis is an appalachian flatfooter, she dances her way across London,        the UK and also the States with her flatfoot board and shoes.

She is very passionate about this form of percussive dancing and wishes to share her love and knowledge of it with anyone she can!

Please find information on workshops past and present, so you can join her in her pursuit to create a flatfoot army. So please do check out her YOU TUBE channel (TheMsJobo) filled with Step videos.

If you are confused about what flatfooting is then this is a good link to help explain. It is a form of 'Clogging' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clogging

In my words, it is percussive dancing, with your feet. You use a board/piece of wood/box/barrel - anything wooden that you can enhance your foot noises with - and you crack out the beats to fiddle and Banjo music. It is not just like any old dancing, it is like you are dancing INSIDE the music. Pure magic and percussive groovy joy.
